Welcome to Day 2 of The Crossroads Blog Tour!
Today we get a visit from Jackie Morse Kessler whose book HUNGER I'm currently reading.
From Goodreads:
“Thou art the Black Rider. Go thee out unto the world.”
Lisabeth Lewis has a black steed, a set of scales, and a new job: she’s been appointed Famine. How will an anorexic seventeen-year-old girl from the suburbs fare as one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse?
Traveling the world on her steed gives Lisa freedom from her troubles at home: her constant battle with hunger, and her struggle to hide it from the people who care about her. But being Famine forces her to go places where hunger is a painful part of everyday life, and to face the horrifying effects of her phenomenal power. Can Lisa find a way to harness that power — and the courage to battle her own inner demons?
Jackie was nice enough to answer some questions for us:
Book-Savvy: Were any of the events in your book inspired by your own experiences?
Jackie Morse Kessler: " Well, I've never been a Horseman of the Apocalypse. :) But I was bulimic."
Wow! It's inspiring to hear you've successfully overcome that! I know a fair share of people that have (and some still do) suffered from bulimia.
Book-Savvy: If you could partner with any author (dead or alive) to co-write your next novel, who would you choose?
Jackie Morse Kessler: "Oh my God, Neil Gaiman!!! **fans self** I'd be happy just to write the small words, like "the" and "me.""
From what I've read of yours and Gaiman's, that could be the fantasy-to-end-all-fantasies story! I'm pretty sure I'd kill for that ;)

Book-Savvy: If you were stranded on a desert island which one of your characters would you choose to be stuck with?
Jackie Morse Kessler: "Death. Which sounds creepy, but he's actually very cool (and, okay, a little scary at times) - plus he sings and plays just like Kurt Cobain, so rah, music!"
I totally agree with you there.
Thank you so much, Jackie!
Hunger comes out TOMORROW 10/18/10
