I was elated to ask Judith a few questions:

Book-Savvy: What part of your first book was the most difficult to write?

Judith Graves: "Hey, Heather, great question. It was all tough. I like to call UMS my etch-a-sketch novel. I just kept shaking that baby until it worked. ;) But the most challenging aspect of UMS was adding extra sensory information. Eryn is a Shapeshifter, she has extra keen senses. That often changed how a scene played out. (The bad guy can't hide in a corner if Eryn can sniff him out before she even enters the room.)

Book-Savvy: If you had it to do all over again, what would you change?

Judith Graves: "Being the first of a three book series, I might have tweaked some of the traditional lore even more than I did. When you world-build, your characters (and you!) are limited by the rules you create. Soooo...in your first book make sure the rules you establish are the ones you really want your characters to live - or die - by."

Book-Savvy: If you were stranded on a desert island which of your characters would you choose to be stuck with?

Judith Graves: "Hmmm...I'd go for Kate, a witch who can control time. Surely she'd be able to cast a spell and get us back to civilization. ;)"
